Postal Service Today, the magazine of the postal authorities of Taiwan (the Republic of China) published in its magazine Nr. 497 of May 1990 a richly illustrated article (tome 1) about orchids.

The orchids

The orchids, the author Wu Hsing says, belong to the family of Orchidacea. This family consists of 20,000 species, divided in about 800 genera. Originally an orchid is a tropical plant, but the flower can be found in the whole world, even in arctic territories.

The article is illustrated with full-color pictures of 43 stamps from various countries; this confirms the fact that orchids are well known in the whole world.
