Old masters

On 8 June 1999 PTT Post will issue a block Old Masters. The sheet contains 10 different 80 cent stamps picturing Dutch Paintings from the 17th century.
This century is also known as the Golden Age. It was the age of great commercial prosperity. The Netherlands were the foremost commercial and maritime power and Amsterdam became the financial center of Europe.
The stamps are printed in offset and the printing colours used are: black, red, yellow and blue.
The stamps have comb perforation 13,25x13 .
Plate numbers: L1111, R1111, L1121, R1121, L1241 and R1241.

Priority stamp

Also a block with 5 priority stamps (nominal value 1 guilder each) will be issued. These stamps picture the painting "Jewish bride" by Rembrandt.
Also printed in offset with the same colours as used by the Dutch Masters.
These stamps are self-adhesives and are not perforated.
Plate numbers: L1111, R1111 and M1111.
