Stamp booklet for truck transport

Stamp year 2007 began in Finland on 24 January with six new interesting postage stamp issues. A booklet of four stamps was issued on truck transport, which celebrated its centenary in Finland in 2006. Kaisu Klemetti designed the booklet and the stamps.

T-Ford truck

The cover picture of the Truck Transport booklet is from the 1920s. The picture shows a T-Ford truck owned by Ajuriliike Suvinen. The pictures immortalized in the stamps show a logging camp and milk transport. The vehicle used in the logging camp is a 1938 Heavy Truck. The photo belongs to the Lusto/National Board of Forestry collection and was taken by an unknown photographer.

De Soto

The milk truck is a 1965 De Soto. The photo comes from the Valio dairy archive. The two other photos on the stamps are the work of photographer Jouko Leskelä. One shows a 2000 Sisu owned the transport company of Hannu Juselius engaged on paving at Nihtisilta in Espoo, and the other stamp picture shows a trailer combination belonging to the Saariiärvi-based company J&P Huttunen carrying goods on Vanha Porintie.
