International flowershow in Liège

The loveliest scents and the most wonderful gardens await you at the third International flowershow in Liège. This will extend over an area of 15.000 m2 at the Halles des Foires de Liège, from April 26 to May 4, 2003. This floral spectacle will be exceptional, all the more so since the Foire Internationale de Liège and the Floralies Gantoises have decided to combine their efforts in order to ensure the success of the event.

Old tradition

For the cities of Liège and Ghent, the Floralies fit into an age-old tradition. For the first seeds were sown as far back as 1809 for Ghent and 1830 for Liège. These original gatherings marked the beginnings of a long history strewn with flowers and success.

For horticulture professionals

Over a recommended route of 1200 meters, visitors will sense the attention to detail that characterises the creations and will also enjoy enough room to stand back and experience delicate, perfumed and stunningly attractive landscapes. The Flower Meeting, an area adjoining the Halles des Foires, will give the opportunity for a highly colourful meeting with all the horticulture professionals.

All factors which lead us to believe that, for this 2003 event, Liège will be the most flower-filled and - more than ever - the most convivial of cities.
