20th century stamps

On 28 October 2002 the Belgian Post concluded one of the most extensive series ever issued with a sheet of twenty stamps about society and everyday life in the 20th century.

Everyday life

Past themes brought tremendous changes, not only with regard to politics, science, art and sports. Everyday life also changed considerably. Relations between the various sections of society and the life of separate individuals have no comparison with those during previous centuries. In just one hundred years, the pattern of living of many earth dwellers had undergone more changes than during the proceeding thousand years.

Social revolution

The new series illustrates the social revolution on this earth and the transformations in our daily routine.
Designer Clothilde Olyff once again demonstrates her vast graphic talents. Olyff turned the complete sheet and each stamp separately into gems of striking simplicity.
