Miniature stamp sheet

With the issue of six stamps and a miniature sheet on 20 September 2002, the greatest moments in Norwegian football have now also been recorded in stamp history.
The stamps, first day covers and maximum cards are also available in a colourful football album containing information in Norwegian, English and German.

Norwegian Football

The people have spoken. Their verdict is clear: the greatest moment in Norwegian football history was on Midsummer Eve 1998, at Stade de Velodrome in Marseille, when Kjetil Rekdal scored from a penalty kick and Norway beat Brazil 2-1 in the World Cup. At home in Norway, people went wild.
Voted into second place was the legendary bronze team, which knocked Germany out of the Berlin Oplympics in 1936. The third greatest moment was the women's golden goal victory against the United States at the Sydney Olympics in 2000.

Champions League

In addition to the three top matches selected by national poll, the Norwegian Football Association and Norway Post jointly chose another three from the twelve nominated events: Norway's victory over its archenemy Sweden (3-1) in 1960, Norway's victory over England (2-1) in 1981 and Roseborg's victory (2-1) over Milan in the Champions League at the San Siro Stadium in 1996.
