Contemporary art on postage stamp

The theme for this year's Nordic stamp is contemporary art. The contribution of Aland consists of a photo depicting a controversial work of art, "Radar II", by the internationally renowned designer Stefan Lindfors.
"Radar II" can be admired in the Eastern Harbour of Mariehamn and has previously been depicted on a telephone card (1998).

Stefan Linfors

Stefan Linfors is also the artist behind the miniature sheet "The New Millennium" (2000). Finland's best internationally known artist and designer was born on Aland, but grew up on the Finnish mainland. He partly works as an interior designer for the European furniture and product industry and partly as a sculptor. Linfors works in New York and Finland and worked on a great number of projects.
