Special mourning stamp

At the request of the funeral sector, a special mourning stamp was designed by the Belgian post. This stamp was issued on 10 December 2001.

Dignified franking

The loss of a loved one is a time of deep sorrow expressed by those who are left through an announcement of death. It is now possible to frank these letters in a sober and dignified way. Until now the black surround on these announcements has given them special urgent treatment in delivery. These announcements with black surrounds are used less and less. The use of a mourning stamp ensures the sender that the announcement is handled with the same urgency.
