Many new postage stamps

The historical changeover to a new currency will be documented with stamps and cancellations on a postcard to be issued by the Philatelic Center on 1 January 2002. Two stamps will be affixed onto the front of a card, illustrated with a swan: the one, denominated FIM 5, features the Finnish flag, the other, denominated EUR 1, features the Finnish lion.
The stamps denominated in markka and euro will bear the cancellation dates 31 December 2001 and 1 January 2002, respectively.
Ms Päivi Vainionpää designed the card. The issue of the card is 20,000 and will be priced at 2 euros.

Package with two franked covers

A package with two franked covers, to be issued on 1 January 2002, also serves as documentation of the great monetary reform. Two FIM 1.80 lion stamps, designed for a 1975 issue by Ms Pirkko Vahtero, will be affixed onto one of the covers. The stamps will bear the cancellation date 31 December 2001. An EUR 1.00 lion stamp, designed by Mr Mika Launis, and to be issued on 1 January 2002, will be affixed into the other cover.
The stamps will bear the cancellation date 1 January 2002. The cover package, the issue of which is 12,000, will be priced at 5 euros.

First Finnish euro-denominated stamps

The first Finnish euro-denominated stamps will be issued on New Year's Day 2002. All eleven stamps, each with a different pictorial subject, will be issued as a set. The set, also to be issued on 1 January 2002, will be priced at 16.65 euros. The issue of the set is 10,000.
