By joining the Stampilou club, the 8 to 13-year old children get to the thrilling world of philately. This way, all information about stamp collecting is made available to young philatelists.

Starting a hobby

Anybody starting a hobby obviously needs some basic equipment. Therefore, the Belgian Post sends an extensive introduction package to all newcomers in the Stampilou family. So that they can fiddle their tweezers and magnifying glasses like real specialists. On top of that, they are offered a file containing all technical data about the new postage stamps as well as a series of filing cards.

Club magazine

Any club worth mentioning has got a club magazine. Stampilou aims at being an interactive club. On a regular basis, contests are organized and nice prizes can be won.
Besides, filling a whole page with their tricks and jokes, the comic characters Stam, Pilou and Opa Fons, revive the club magazine with their tips about philately.

Stamp Day

The designers of these comic characters designed this years issue for Stamp Day. It is a stamp that made history: The first round postage stamp in Belgian history was issued for Stamp Day on 8 October 2001. These postage stamps are sold in booklets containing five copies.
