Great British stamps

Five new customised stamps celebrating special occasions in daily life were issued on 6 February 2001 in Great Britain.

Precious objects

The themes of the five 1st class stamps reflect a New Baby, Moving Home, Celebrations, Thank You en Romance. Each stamp is reminiscent of a precious object, with its silver sheen and replica hallmarks similar to those found on silver items such as good luck bracelets, spoons and other gifts. To achieve the shiny silver effect the stamps were printed on a pearlescent iriodin background.
