Stepping into the next millennium

This new miniature sheet does not resemble anything the Aland Post has previously issued. The sheet consists of Aland's first round stamps ever. The four stamps are embossed and show the international peace symbol and the three Aland colours are used as well as white.

Stamps designed by Stefan Lindfors

The internationally well-known artist Stefan Lindfors has designed the stamps while the Post's marketing department is behind the first day cover and cancel.

Values: 3.40k (all four stamps).
Size: Diameter 33.5mm.
Printing: Offset by Enschedé in The Netherlands.

Sea birds

The new definitives depict three particularly impressive and beautiful sea birds: the arctic tern, the common gull and the great black-backed gull. All three birds live close to the sea and are found commonly in Aland.
